Winch
application user description include:
Truck
and commercial vehicles such as vehicle recovery trucks, recovery
vehicles, breakdown trucks, spectacle frame, known as Spec Frame,
slide beds, beaver tail, low loaders, vehicle transporters, all use a
vehicle recovery winch these are either hydraulic or electric winches.
A
breakdown truck vehicle recovery truck and transporter trucks will
all have either an electric or hydraulic winch fitted known as a recovery
winch. Vehicle recovery is split in to two categories, light recovery and
heavy recovery.
Plant
Hire trucks also use winches mainly hydraulic for winching heavy plant and
equipment.
General
purpose industrial winching and commercial vehicle cv truck use a winch
for general loading.
Material
handling as in general loading or load pulling load movers as used in many

trailer winch usually an electric winch can be a very useful piece of
equipment to assist vehicle plant or tractor loading. Vehicle recovery
winches as used on truck and trailer or low loader or spectacle
frame use a loading low profile winch type.

hire truck winches as used on plant loading trailers or commercial vehicle
CV truck use a vehicle recovery winch.

trailer or truck fitted with a crane winch as used for a hoist as a

Winches
are very popular when used as a crane or hoist winch in a lifting
configuration due partly to the cost factor as crane and lifting type
winches tend to be cheaper lb. for £. than the equivalent hoist. BUT you
must ensure that when using a winch for lifting that it complies with all
the lifting and safety regulations, See the LOLER regulations. It is your
responsibility to also ensure that the wire rope you use also complies to
all regulations for lifting. Never use a winch for lifting or transporting
people.
4x4
4wd ATV winches are used for off road and four wheel drive self
recovery.

Land Rover bumper winch kit can be front mounted using a special mounting
plate or front bumper assembly as used for self recovery. We have Land
Rover front bumper kits for our Husky and EP9 / EPi9 series winches.
