The first Black Innovation Week, which highlights black tech leaders, will run July 19-24.
Black Innovation Week will feature free panel discussions and networking opportunities. The Be Nimble Foundation will award grants to the most innovative creatives.
July 19 – Protect Your Peace: Health and Wellness Panel, panelists will discuss the intersection of innovation and mental and physical health, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair St.
July 20 – Roundtable “InnovatED”, local education leaders and educators will moderate the discussion, 6 to 8 p.m. Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair St.
July 21 – Black Innovation Week Career Fair and Conference, a virtual career fair and conference, will feature a fireside chat with Carla Harris, vice president of wealth management at Morgan Stanley, and will simultaneously air on the platform. Afrotech’s Lunchtable live form.
Black Innovation Week Pitch Pardi & Mixer, 12 black-led start-ups will pitch their ideas for winning one of five prizes at the inaugural Garden Pardi pitch competition. After the competition, they will host the Black in Tech Rooftop Mixer from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., High Alpha Studios, 830 Massachusetts Ave., Suite 1500, Floor 4.
The Be Nimble Foundation will award $ 5,000 to the best founder and $ 2,500 each to the three finalist founders. The finalists of the pitch will share their ideas with a panel of judges at 5 p.m. The winners will be announced on July 24 at Garden Pardi.
22nd of July – Pardiway: The Fest, the second part of the 7House and Be Nimble collaboration highlighting the link between business and culture from the local art scene to technology, 7:00 p.m. Chiefs of the Melon Kitchen the accelerator and other local partners will provide sample special menus.
July 23 – VIP & Sponsor Mixer and RNB Houseparty, the Be Nimble Foundation will launch the weekend with a private VIP & Sponsor Mixer (by invitation only) and RNB Houseparty (open to the public).
July 24 – Pardi Garden, Kenny Burns, Uncle Nearest Brand Ambassador, will host Garden Pardi, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lucas Estates. Tickets are sold out.
