HYDERABAD, India, May 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — IIITH held a workshop on IoT and oneM2M on June 13 and May 14, 2022 under its Academic Research Affiliation Scheme, with support from the India-EU Collaborative Project on ICT Standardization.
The workshop was organized to train students and faculty from affiliated colleges on the topics of IoT, smart cities and oneM2M, encourage them to deploy standards-based solutions in their campuses and promote standards in their course curriculum.
Six colleges that participated in this workshop were:
- G.Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science (GNITS), HyderabadTelangana
- Vasavi College engineering (VCE), HyderabadTelangana
- Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management (HITAM), HyderabadTelangana
- KG Reddy College engineering and technology, HyderabadTelanagana
- St. Vincent Pallotti College engineering, Nagpur, Maharashtra
- Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam, Kerala
A total of 115 students and 18 professors from these six colleges participated in the workshop, which consisted of two days of lectures and practical sessions. These students had already followed a MOOC on oneM2M online, where they were accompanied by IIITH mentors for practical sessions. The lectures were conducted by the IIITH faculty, and an invited lecture was given by Prof. Thierry MonteilIRIT, Toulouse, France.
Another agenda of this workshop was for the participants to take the solution built on air pollution monitoring using IoT and oneM2M and deploy it in their colleges. The students enjoyed the class sessions and enthusiastically participated in the project sessions. The students formed 30 teams, with 4-5 students in each team. All the teams have successfully completed the IoT and oneM2M based air pollution monitor and now these teams will deploy these devices in their colleges and nearby areas.
